Wow, time is really flying by! Trenton is almost 7 weeks old and he's right on track with his milestones. In the past week he has really been expressing himself more, smiling and giggling on occasion. He now weighs 9 lbs. 5 oz. His neck muscles are also getting much stronger and so he's able to hold his head up by himself for at least a few seconds. He's a very observant little boy, he loves to study faces and will just stare at your face forever. He's also become obsessed with his musical giraffe stuffed animal and his Sophie the giraffe toy. His new favorite past time is drooling and trying to eat his left mitten (only the left one, which leads me to make a prediction that Trenton may be left handed... i know, i know, it's way too early to tell that, but I'm just putting it out there).
As for today, we had a fabulous family day. Nana Debbie stayed the weekend with us and so Sunday morning we went out to breakfast and than went shopping at Kohls and the mall. All this shopping gave me my first opportunity to breastfeed in public, something I have had much anxiety about. I feed Trenton in the back seat of my car in the Kohls parking lot and also in the Mommy & Baby Lullaby Lounge in the Mission Viejo Mall. Both feedings went well and my nerves and now slightly calmer knowing I can feed him wherever and whenever i need to.
At the mall Nana Debbie treated Trenton to a couple outfits and a hat from Baby Gap and she treated me to a Zumba Fitness game for the Wii (time to start shakin' my booty and getting skinny!)
Here are a couple pictures I just snapped of T-Bird (another one of Trenton's nicknames).
